The Innkeepers, Joe and Shirley Thomas, purchased this magnificent 1892 Victorian home from J. B. Moore in 2000. Up until her death, J. B.'s wife had lived in this wonderful old home from the time her father, Dr. Wm. M. Hammack, purchased the house in 1916. It has taken Joe two long years to restore, renovate, and furnish the Hammack-Moore House Bed and Breakfast to its former grace and splendor

Mr. and Mrs. John Edwin Ruby, II built their country home in 1947. Today, the property known as Ruby Lodge At Springlake Woods Bed And Breakfast, currently consists of 66 acres of wooded land including a 7½ acre lake that is over 100 years old. The spring-fed lake was an original water source for Madisonville. This acreage was known as the “Springlake Wild Life Refuge” and is still home to many different kinds of wild life such as deer, fox, rabbit, squirrel, wild turkey, and many kinds of ducks and birds.

A three-story atrium welcomes the diner upon first entering Bartholomew's Restaurant. A nine foot apothecary cabinet is only the first of many tastefully presented antiques including English pub tables, elegant sideboards, a 1920's phoen booth and an 1880's big wheel bicycle. Add to this a couple of mounted buffalo heads, some seven foot marlins and several mounted African heads including an 11-foot giraffe, and you have an elclectiv atmosphere unique in all Kentucky!
